Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist

 

  • Pharmacist Grade 2 | Full time permanent position | Monthly day off
  • Work with different disciplines & across multiple sites in Eastern suburbs of Melbourne

About the role

 

This Pharmacist position is part of an antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) pharmacy team and will work closely with the lead pharmacist, infectious disease physicians and antimicrobial stewardship technician. The full-time position assists with activities to ensure Eastern Health complies and delivers care consistent with the national standards for Antimicrobial Stewardship (standard 3).

 

 

About you

 

Essential Criteria

 

Please refer to the attached position description for full details. Some of the essential criteria include:

 

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current and advanced hospital pharmacy experience, including effective clinical pharmacy skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy. In particular, demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha)
  • Demonstrated competence in drug knowledge, especially antimicrobial therapy and its application in the clinical setting
  • Demonstrate ability to work as part of the Infectious Diseases Team

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
