About the role

 

The Associate Director, Learning and Teaching: Mental Health & Statewide Services is responsible for developing and implementing key strategies to enhance the clinical capability of the mental health workforce, to deliver great patient outcomes. The position is of clinical and educational leadership and collaborates with the Director, Practice Capability, Mental Health & Wellbeing Program, and key internal and external stakeholders, to optimise clinical standards, mitigate clinical risk, support professional standards, and promote and enhance education and research within the clinical program area. 

The Associate Director, Practice Capability works according to a Learning and Teaching philosophy promoting and facilitating; training, education, research and evidence-based knowledge translation and a positive workplace culture.  

In collaboration and consultation with the Director of Practice Capability and the Director of Nursing, Adult Mental Health, the Associate Director leads the Program Clinical Educator team to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate learning programs based on the strategic objectives of the Eastern Health Institute. They represent Eastern Health in several state-wide projects and contribute at a state-wide level to the progress of mental health nursing education.

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current registration with AHPRA 
  • Post Graduate qualification in mental health nursing
  • Extensive relevant clinical experience
  • Extensive experience in practice development, at a senior level
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  •  

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
