About the role

 

An opportunity exists in Acute Specialist Clinics at Box Hill Hospital for a passionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to help lead a busy department, striving to meet the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services. Specialist Clinics is looking for an experienced ANUM, who is passionate about leadership, the patient journey and their outcomes. Approximately 160 000 occasions of service are provided annually across Eastern Health specialist clinics. These include new patients referred from the community, review appointments for ongoing care, and post admission follow up from Eastern Health’s network of hospitals. The Specialist Clinics Scheduling Team consists of clerical and nursing staff, responsible for a range of scheduling activities including referral management, specialist clinic bookings, managing patient cancellations and rebookings, waitlist and email management, and portfolio management. You will be working with your team in collaboration with other sites within Eastern Health Acute Specialist Clinics and other multidisciplinary team to work with and lead your team to meet the needs and provide high quality care to our patients.

 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Division 1 Nurse / Midwife Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the position (desirable)
  • Experience and understanding of Specialist Clinics (desirable) 
  • Demonstrated involvement in maintenance and improvement of clinical standards, with a strong commitment to high quality care  
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.  
  • Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office software  
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.   
  • Open, flexible and innovative with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload.   
  • Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills.   
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), patient administration system (IPM), and Clinical Patient Folder (CPF)  
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
