- Key leadership role overseeing Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department, the largest of the three Emergency Departments in Eastern Health.
- Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department is a mixed adult and paediatric emergency department with an annual census of over 65,000 patient presentations and includes a 24-bed short-stay unit.

About the role
Emergency Services at Eastern Health has three busy Emergency Departments at Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital and Angliss Hospital, servicing a population of approximately 1 million people.

Reporting to the Clinical Service Director for Emergency Services and operating in accordance with Eastern Health’s values, the role of the Clinical Director Emergency Services, Box Hill Hospital is to partner effectively with the emergency services leadership team, including the site Nurse Unit Managers for Box Hill Emergency Department and Short-stay units and the other site clinical directors across emergency services to provide clear accountability and direction for the department and to optimize clinical outcomes and performance through the application of quality systems and evidence based practice.
It is envisioned that the Clinical Director will hold an active clinical role within the department, to bring real-time day-to-day experiences of clinical care to the service and lead changes in reform.
Key capabilities for success include the willingness to balance both clinical and non-clinical priorities, drive direction on optimal clinical service delivery while incorporating organisational strategic alignment and exceptional communication and influencing skills.
The Clinical Director will build and sustain a high performing team and promote a safe and welcoming workplace culture that drives positive change to enable and empower our people to deliver a high standard of healthcare to our community.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
- Current specialist medical registration with AHPRA
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
