About the role
As an integral member of the Eastern Health Communications Department, the primary focus of the Communications Advisor is supporting internal stakeholders and delivering the short, medium and long term communication needs of the organisation.
Applying a strategic approach, the Communications Advisor supports a range of key internal and external relationships to ensure communication plans are established and delivered according to key strategic objectives.
About you
The success of the role requires the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and provide strategic communication advice to meet agreed objectives.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably communication/media/marketing).
- Demonstrated management or leadership experience at a team or department level.
- Proven experience developing high-quality strategic communication plans with measurable outcomes.
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively, particularly with internal stakeholders.
- Experience using digital communication platforms particularly as it relates to internal communication. Experience in using Microsoft Team will be an advantage.
- Some experience in proactive and/or reactive media management including crisis communications.
- Experience in the delivering or supporting of events to an internal and external audience.
- High level of writing skills including in the development and delivery of publication projects from start to end.
- Excellent time management with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects, adapt to meet changing demands and meet deadlines.
- Able to travel between Eastern Health sites and support the delivery of communication deliverables.
- Victorian driver’s licence.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
