Medical Imaging Data Officer

 

  • Temporary Full Time | Parental leave cover until 30/8/27
  • Based at Box Hill Hospital with travel to our other campuses

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven professional to join our informatics team and take a key role in managing Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS). The Data Officer will be responsible for the daily management and integrity of the RIS across all Eastern Health Medical Imaging departments, including Box Hill, Angliss, Maroondah, Peter James Centre, Healesville, Blackburn, and Wantirna Health.

In addition to RIS management, the Data Officer will support the maintenance of Eastern Health Imaging HL7 interfaces and assist the PACS Administrator with PACS data management and upkeep across all locations. As an essential member of the team, you will be involved in the evaluation and rollout of new informatics projects, training, and will have frequent interactions with clinical teams to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained.

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Previous experience in the management and maintenance of data in a radiology information system (RIS)
  • Experience in the maintenance and integration of the RIS with other systems such as a the Hospital Information System, Electronic Medical Record and PACS
  • Understanding of the reception and booking functions and workflows of a large radiology practice
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in the correction of breakdowns and errors
  • The ability to design and/or customise report extractions as required by medical imaging management
  • Current drivers licence
  • A strong commitment to helping our teams provide high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team and independently
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
