Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and driven professional to step into a key role within Data Quality and Reporting team. This is a fixed-term, part-time role (Tuesday to Friday preferred) until October 2026, with the possibility of an extension to early 2027.

The Data Quality and Reporting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of administrative data to meet reporting requirements. This includes overseeing processes related to the Victorian Admitted Episode Dataset (VAED) by performing data integrity checks and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of health data that drives reporting and funding outcomes.

Working closely with the Associate Program Director – Data Quality and Reporting (APD DQR), you will contribute to the implementation and monitoring of data quality frameworks and undertake quality assurance activities that support Activity Based Funding (ABF) and optimise National Weighted Activity Units (NWAU). A key aspect of the role involves designing, coordinating, and delivering targeted training for clerical staff to promote accurate data entry, which is critical for both ABF and VAED reporting.

You may also manage a small team during the APD’s absence, providing leadership and guidance. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their leadership capabilities while engaging in their role.  Hybrid working model with one day per week onsite at Box Hill Hospital following successful training. We strive to support and develop a positive team culture.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Experience in healthcare is desirable

  • 2 years of experience in a data focused role

  • Understanding of Activity Based Funding (ABF) principles is desirable
  • Highly motivated and self-driven for success

  • Shows initiative and desire for quality improvement

  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills

  • Possess good negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and develop

  • Demonstrated ability to manage self and others in order to meet deadlines

  • Experience with managing change

  • Experience with training staff

  • Ability to work well with staff at all levels

Important Note

Due to strict VAED reporting deadlines, accommodating leave requests during peak holiday periods and the VAED consolidation timeframe (July to September) may be challenging. We will work together to find a balance that supports both employee needs and operational requirements.

Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on data quality and funding outcomes while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
