About the role
We are excited to introduce a brand‑new leadership opportunity within our newly established Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program. This program is central to Eastern Health’s commitment to creating a culturally safe, equitable and inclusive health care environment that reflects the diversity of our community and fosters trust and collaboration.
As the Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Eastern Health’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework and Plan. Working closely with senior leaders, teams, and consumer and community stakeholders, you will support Eastern Health to be a sector leader in equity and inclusion by driving key initiatives and supporting the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. You will provide leadership and operational management to the DEI Coordinator, working collaboratively to progress DEI commitments and projects.

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in a health-related field, community development, or social sciences
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills
- Experience and demonstrable achievements in developing organisational capacity to improve diversity,
equity and inclusion - A high level of skills in stakeholder management, project management, governance and planning.
- Demonstrated ability to understand change and the dynamics of a large, complex health care
organisation - Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders across a range of levels within a large and complex
organisation - Evidence of ability to manage competing priorities and deliver required outputs on time
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain
working relationships with a range of stakeholders, work co-operatively in a team environment,
together with demonstrated capacity to successfully manage/facilitate change. - Self-motivated and able to work under pressure both independently and within a team
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
