Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.

Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.

About the role

In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing improvement capability and supporting the effective implementation of the Safer Together Program (STP) priority projects across the East Metro & Murrindindi (EMM) Local Health Service Network (LHSN). You will provide targeted, hands-on support to health services—particularly those with limited improvement capacity—to ensure equitable access to improvement expertise. Working closely with the EMM LHSN STP Coordinator and local improvement teams, you will help build capability, foster collaboration, and drive engagement in delivering initiatives aligned with the STP’s four strategic priorities: reducing avoidable harm, reducing avoidable admissions, ensuring the safe use of medicines, and promoting value-based healthcare. You will coordinate LHSN STP efforts, deliver training across the network, and act as a key point of contact for participating health services, offering implementation support, resolving operational challenges, and facilitating the sharing of lessons learned. Through coaching, administrative coordination, and advisory support, you will help cultivate a culture of continuous learning and shared improvement throughout the EMM LHSN.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Continuous Improvement and Change Management Experience
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management Skills
  • Safety, quality, and patient experience focus
  • Improvement initiative Coordination and Governance Experience
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Building Capability

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
