About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Endocrinologist to join Eastern Health’s community IDEAS Clinic, Doncaster, commencing 1 January 2026. IDEAS is a weekly multi-disciplinary Diabetes Clinic run in partnership with HealthAbility.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

About you

You are an outstanding clinician who provides compassionate care to culturally diverse populations of people living with diabetes and who thinks creatively to improve patient outcomes and models of care. 

Key criteria include the following:

• Must be a registered medical practitioner in the State of Victoria.
• Must have significant clinical experience, with experience and training in Endocrinology.
• Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist Endocrinologist.
• Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related to Endocrinology.
• Teaching experience of medical students, junior doctors, nursing and allied health staff
• Provide appropriate supervision of junior Endocrinology medical staff 
• Provide clinical care on evidence-based guidelines
• Offer patient-centred, culturally appropriate care to diverse patient groups
• Demonstrate professional and ethical clinical practice
• Strong ability to function well in multi-disciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic clinical information systems.
• Exposure to research principles and practices 
• Quality representation of the Endocrinology Unit internally within Eastern Health and externally in the broader health system.
