Executive Director Infrastructure & Chief Information Officer

  • Significant executive leadership role within one of Victoria's largest and most diverse public health services
  • Opportunity to contribute to organisation-wide strategy, transformation and performance
  • Join a values led, community connected organisation with strong workforce retention and a clear strategic direction

Eastern Health is one of Victoria's largest public health services. As a values-led, integrated service united by our Healthier Together promise, we deliver high-quality care, support and service to a broad and diverse community across Melbourne’s east and beyond.

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding executive to join our Executive Leadership Team as Executive Director Infrastructure & Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a significant enterprise leadership role with executive accountability for Eastern Health’s digital and technology strategy, cyber security, information systems, infrastructure and major capital priorities.

The Executive Director Infrastructure & CIO will lead a broad portfolio critical to the future of Eastern Health, ensuring our physical and digital environments are safe, resilient, contemporary and capable of supporting high-quality care.

The opportunity

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership of Eastern Health’s digital, technology and infrastructure agenda.
  • Lead the development and delivery of major ICT, digital, infrastructure and capital programs.
  • Strengthen cyber security, technology resilience, information governance and business continuity.
  • Ensure infrastructure investment is aligned with clinical priorities, organisational strategy and future models of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with clinical and operational leaders, government, technology partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead significant transformation while maintaining reliable, safe and effective day-to-day services.
  • Contribute as an enterprise executive to the broader strategy, culture and performance of Eastern Health.

What you’ll bring

You will be a highly credible senior executive with substantial leadership experience across complex, large-scale organisations. You will bring strong capability in digital and technology leadership, major transformation and infrastructure, together with the commercial judgement and stakeholder skills required to operate successfully in a complex public sector environment.

Importantly, you will be an enterprise leader first — able to connect technology and infrastructure investment directly to better outcomes for our people, patients and communities.

Experience in healthcare or another complex, highly regulated service environment will be highly regarded.

This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of one of Victoria’s largest health services and lead a portfolio fundamental to how Eastern Health delivers care into the future.

What we offer

Being part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts. We offer a range of benefits including:

  • Investment in your career through continuous learning, mentoring, professional development, and opportunities to progress into specialist, leadership or advanced practice pathways.
  • Work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, study and professional development leave, and leave purchasing options.
  • Wellbeing support through fitness programs, confidential employee assistance services for you and your family, and 24/7 access to a range of support resources.
  • Financial incentives to help you make the most of your earnings, including salary packaging through Maxxia, novated leasing options, and employee discounts on health insurance, banking and more.
