About the role

Eastern Health is seeking an experienced and dedicated General Surgeon with expertise in Upper Gastrointestinal (Upper GI) and Hepatobiliary Surgery to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves delivering high-quality surgical care to a diverse patient population, while contributing to the training, supervision, and development of junior medical staff.

 

The position includes leave cover responsibilities and vacant clinical sessions within the Upper GI and Hepatobiliary service.

 

We are also seeking candidates with a demonstrated interest in clinical research, quality improvement, and service development initiatives, who can contribute to advancing patient outcomes and standards of care.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current specialist registration with AHPRA 
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Upper GI & Hepatobiliary
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
