Eastern Health
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.
Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.
This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.
About the role
The cardiology service for Eastern Health is predominantly based out of Box Hill Hospital. The cardiology department there includes an 8-bed CCU as part of a 32-bed ward (2.2) with daily consultant led ward rounds. There are 2 cath labs supporting one of the state’s busiest PCI on call services, cardiac device implant sessions and an EPS service. There is a large non-invasive cardiology service across EH with 8 echo machines, stress echo, TOE, pacing checks, Holter monitoring and tilt table service. We also have a growing CTCA and new Cardiac MRI service run in collaboration with our imaging department. At Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals we provide a consult only service with thrice weekly consultations rounds and 24/7 phone advice. We are accredited with four advanced cardiology trainees, based at Box Hill Hospital.
The role
Applicants are invited to apply to be credentialled as a locum cardiologist with a view to providing backfill of leave for outpatient clinic sessions and possible ward service. If appropriate, extended privileges recognising subspecialty skills (e.g. echo reporting, cath lab activities) can also be credential dependent on proof of subspecialty expertise and currency.
