About the role
The Eastern Cognitive Disorders Clinic within the Neurosciences Department at Eastern Health, plays a critical role in supporting patients with young onset and/or atypical presentations with dementia. There is currently an opportunity to join our team with a leave cover, position. The primary responsibility is a weekly outpatient cognitive disorders service. This role will also include additional clinical support time (2 hours) to provide supervision of HMOs and contribute to other activities within neurosciences as agreed with the Director of Neurosciences. There may also be an opportunity to provide support for covering of unplanned leave.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential
- Must be a registered medical practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Must have significant clinical experience, with experience and training cognitive neurology.
- Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist.
- Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related to Neurosciences and Cognitive Neurology.
Other
- Demonstrated experience in teaching of medical students and HMOs.
- Teaching experience of other clinical staff – nursing and allied health.
- Exposure to research practices and principles.
- Familiarity with clinical information systems.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
