About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Allergy & Immunology Physician to join our team in providing excellent care across the Eastern Health network
Allergy/Immunology service under the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Eastern Health plays a critical role in offering outpatient consultation referred from General Practice and Emergency Department as well as from inpatient referrals. There is currently an opportunity to join our team as Locum for providing cover for planned leave, as well as opportunity to provide support for covering of unplanned leave.
The primary responsibility is a weekly outpatient clinic which sees referrals for assessment of respiratory, food, drug and venom allergies, as well as urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis and immunodeficiency. This supported by allergy and immunology testing service, other allergy/immunology specialists, and general medicine trainees with interest in allergy and immunology.
About you
Essential
- Must be a registered medical practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Must have significant clinical experience, with experience and training in Allergy/ Immunology.
- Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist.
- Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related to Allergy/Clinical immunology.
Other
- Demonstrated experience in teaching of medical students and HMOs.
- Teaching experience of other clinical staff – nursing and allied health.
- Exposure to research practices and principles.
- Familiarity with clinical information systems.
