About the role
The role will support the Formulary & Medicines Strategy team in the coordination and delivery of non-clinical portfolio activities across Eastern Health, in particular coordinating the ordering, receipt, storage, tracking, distribution and documentation of compassionate and other access program medicines, ensuring requirements are met for inventory management and reporting.
The position will also support the team with medicine shortage activities, identification and coordination of alternative medicine supplies, medicine-related data collection and other non-clinical activities within the Formulary & Medicines Strategy portfolio. The position works collaboratively with pharmacy procurement and inventory management team, other pharmacy staff, clinical teams, suppliers and pharmaceutical companies to facilitate timely and efficient access to medicines not available through usual supply arrangements.
What you’ll bring
Key selection criteria specific to the role:
- Minimum of three years’ full-time experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician
- Certificate IV in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent qualification recognised by the relevant authority
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in maintaining records, stock and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated general clerical and administrative skills, including proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to accurately enter, maintain and retrieve data using pharmacy information and inventory management systems
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within established procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy staff, clinical teams, suppliers and other stakeholders
- Reliable, courteous and responsible attitude
