About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to join a highly experienced, dynamic team to grow and develop best practice service to the vascular surgery patient population while supporting care of the musculoskeletal and renal patient cohort.
A full time, permanent Grade 2 opportunity has become available within the acute bed-based Physiotherapy team at Eastern Health due to internal growth. The successful applicant will work flexibly with the broader physiotherapy team to ensure patients receive excellent care.
Within this role, the Grade 2 Physiotherapist will embrace the opportunity to take a leading role in educating, delivering and providing best practice care for patients in the vascular and renal ward in addition to supporting the existing musculoskeletal team. In collaboration with the Grade 3 and Grade 4 Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal, they will be responsible for provision, review and ongoing development of physiotherapy services to the vascular and renal patient cohort while also contributing to support the expanding acute musculoskeletal physiotherapy program.
This role encompasses the supervision, teaching and support of designated Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants and students working within the stream. Clinical Supervision will be an inherent component of this role undertaken on a regular basis with the Grade 3 Physiotherapist.
As a member of the Eastern Health Physiotherapy & Musculoskeletal team, the role also offers opportunity to actively contribute to innovative quality and strategic development for service provision in partnership with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues including collaboration with subacute and care @ home team members.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential
•Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
•Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centered approach.
•Previous clinical experience working in an acute environment with exposure to vascular, renal and musculoskeletal caseloads
•High level communication skills, both written and oral.
•Demonstrated capacity to work and show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
•Experience in supervision of staff and students.
•Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
•Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
•Working with Children Check
Desirable
•Participation in work practice coordination and review
•Experience in developing and maintaining professional standards and practice guidelines
•Working towards post graduate qualification would be highly regarded.
