About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Acute Grade 2 Physiotherapist to work in an evolving clinical environment with a highly varied caseload. If you enjoy clinical diversity, value continuous learning, and want to play an active role in shaping and enhancing Physiotherapy services, this role is for you.
You will join an innovative acute physiotherapy service within the Emergency and Complex Acute Medicine (ECAM) team, working across the Emergency Department (Secondary Contact) and General Medicine wards. As an integral member of the broader Physiotherapy and Allied Health teams, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a supportive environment.
You will also supervise Grade 1 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students. The role offers opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research and professional development, including participation in Eastern Health's ED training pathway. You will have the opportunity to rotate across the Box Hill ECAM service, including the Emergency Department, General Medicine and, in the future, the Acute Accelerated Medicine Unit (AAMU), providing a diverse and rewarding acute-care career pathway.
Supported by experienced Grade 3 ECAM Physiotherapists and the Grade 4 Physiotherapy Clinical Lead, you will benefit from strong clinical support and collaborative opportunities across Box Hill and the broader Eastern Health Aged and Complex Care stream.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA and eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a fast-paced and complex caseload, using a client-centred approach.
- Relevant clinical experience including acute medical and/or emergency medicine, aged and complex care physiotherapy.
- Demonstrated capacity to work and show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability and passion to introduce innovative practice.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
