About the role

 

If you are looking for an acute Grade 2 Physiotherapy role in an evolving clinical area, where no two days are the same, the caseload is highly varied and interesting, and where you can make a meaningful impact on the Physiotherapy service, please read on.

Eastern Health is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join an innovative acute physiotherapy service working in the areas of Emergency Department (Secondary Contact) and General Medicine. The Grade 2 Physiotherapist is an integral member of the broader Physiotherapy and Allied Health teams, delivering high quality evidence-based care in a supported environment.

As a Grade 2 Physiotherapist, in addition to a clinical caseload, this role involves supervision of Grade 1 staff, Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students. Additionally, the role involves opportunities to actively engage in quality improvement initiatives, research, and professional development (including participation in Eastern Health’s ED training pathway), to progress the future of the ECAM team, as well as your personal career aspirations. The role is supported by friendly and experienced Grade 3 and 4 physiotherapists.

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Eligibility for practicing membership of the APA 
  • Advanced clinical skills in managing a fast-paced and complex caseload, using a client-centred approach. 
  • Relevant clinical experience including acute medical, aged and complex care physiotherapy.
  • High level communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Experience in supervision of students and staff. 
  • Demonstrated ability and passion to introduce innovative practice. 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
