About the role
This exciting Grade 2 physiotherapy role will allow you the opportunity to use your clinical expertise and relevant depth of experience to, support recently discharged patients following admission, as well as utilise your self-management and coaching strategies across a variety of patients with chronic disease health burdens.
This highly rewarding position provides the opportunity to extend your acute and/or community physiotherapy skill sets into the provision of physiotherapy services to patients with the intent of reducing their risk of hospital admission. You will provide physiotherapy for individual patients in the home as well as group based therapy centre based across multiple EH sites.
On a daily basis you will live our Eastern Health values as you apply innovative strategies & deliver great the support of highly experienced senior physiotherapists and senior multidisciplinary team members.
You will have excellent communication & advocacy skills; great initiative; love challenge, growth and change; and possess the proven ability to actively collaborate, lead & deliver work to improve outcomes & experiences for your patients and teams.
There will also be opportunities for applying and developing your skills as a supervisor with our AHAs, pre-registration physiotherapy students and grade 1 rotational physiotherapist.
In return you will have access to numerous supports and opportunities to continuously improve yourself and your service, with regular clinical supervision with our Grade 3 senior clinical PT and operational support & coaching with our Integrated Care Team Leaders.
You will also have access to our large Eastern Health Physiotherapy Aged and Complex Care and Cardiorespiratory Clinical Leadership Groups across our network, led by Grade 4 Physiotherapy Clinical Leads and have opportunities for involvement in professional development, quality improvement and research.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess;
Essential
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- Demonstrate recent experience in managing a diverse workload in a range of clinical areas including cardiorespiratory and/or aged and complex care (within bed based or community environments)
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.
- Experienced in or interested in developing skills in, the development of treatment strategies using a client-centred, health coaching approach with a focus on self-management.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence. Driving across multiple eastern health sites and community visits.
Desirable
- Recent experience within acute bed-based services
- Experience in supervision of students and/or post-graduate clinicians
- Member, Australian Physiotherapy Association with current involvement in relevant special interest group
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
