About the role
An opportunity to join the Acute Musculoskeletal physiotherapy outpatient services to support the provision of assessment and treatment for our patients referred from Emergency, acute bed based Orthopaedic services post a hospital admission and Orthopaedic Specialist Clinics.
The successful applicant will join a well-established team of experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapists, with clinical supervision supported by Grade 3 Physiotherapist.
The available opportunities
- 1 x Permanent full-time position Box Hill Hospital (40 hours with monthly day off)
Limited tenure positions:
- 20 hours/week until 30th June 2026, Box Hill Hospital, supporting the Planned Surgery Reform project
- 10 hours/week until 30th June 2026, Box Hill/Maroondah Hospital
- 8 hours/week until 31st December 2025 (with possibility of extension), Box Hill/Maroondah Hospital
About you
You will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player who is actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes and experiences for your patients. You will seek to support and partner with service improvement being undertaken by Grade 3 and Grade 4 Clinical Lead within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential:
- Recognised physiotherapy qualification
- Significant clinical experience in the physiotherapy management of acute musculoskeletal conditions and orthopaedic rehabilitation (both non-operative and post-operative)
- Aligned to the Planned Surgery Reform projects, significant clinical experience in optimising non-operative management pathways for patients with chronic upper and lower limb conditions.
- Current Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High level communication skills – both written and oral
Desirable:
- Relevant Post graduate qualification completed, commenced or demonstrated intention to commence
- Previous experience as a Physiotherapist Grade 2
- Participation in effective supervision of Grade 1 physiotherapists
- Supervision of undergraduate students
