About the role

We are looking for a dedicated, driven rehabilitation physiotherapist with a proven commitment to achieving optimal outcomes for their patients & their team.  You must have experience working with a variety of sub-acute musculoskeletal, neurological and amputee rehabilitation presentations as well as sound general rehabilitation skills & knowledge. This will allow you to be able to work autonomously and seamlessly within our rehabilitation team at Peter James Centre.  

 

Being able to effectively assess and provide timely, thorough assessments to form evidence-based recommendations to treating teams is essential. 

 

You will be required to supervise and delegate to AHAs. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player who is highly resourceful, agile and innovative. Having excellent prioritisation, time management and communication skills and with a commitment to the ongoing growth, development of yourself and the service.

 

This role will have supervision with the weekday Grade 3 Rehabilitation physiotherapists and the opportunity for two-way communication and feedback.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Essential 

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist. 
  • Professional development in musculoskeletal, neurological physiotherapy &/or rehabilitation 
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication & organisational skills. 
  • A strong commitment to high quality care, evidence-based practice and applying these at an individual patient & unit/service level. 
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team. 
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain change-readiness, agility & a solutions-focus, particularly in times of high demand. 

Desirable 

  • Post graduate qualification completed, commenced or demonstrated intention to commence 
  • Previous experience as a Physiotherapist Grade 2 
  • Previous experience within the public health system
  • Participation in effective supervision of Grade 1 physiotherapists and AHAs 
  • Professional development in amputee, neurological or musculoskeletal rehabilitation
  • Experience utilising quality improvement methodology to identify & implement changes that improve patient and team outcomes. 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
