About the Role
Eastern Health delivers Level 4 and 5 Maternity services to residents in the Eastern Suburbs. The Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery will provide you with a supportive environment to cultivate new skills and knowledge to achieve your goal of becoming a Midwife.
As a registered nurse / student midwife, you will be part of the Women’s and Children’s team, addressing the needs of birthing families throughout their pregnancy journey.
This is a paid model: You will be on a rotating roster, with three shifts per week. Weekly university attendance is required but is unpaid.
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Nursing or other recognised equivalent formal qualification leading to condition free registration in Australia
- Current Nursing registration with AHPRA
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Recent experience in an acute nursing environment
- Post-registration or Post-graduate qualification or further study in a relevant clinical or academic field
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
