About the role
Turning Point has offices in Ringwood, Box Hill and Richmond. The addiction psychiatry registrar position will replace an incumbent who will finish in October after completing training. The successful applicant can start later this semester if feasible, but we understand that most people will be looking for positions in 2026 and we anticipate will be starting in February.
The position usually comprises terms at both Richmond and Box Hill/Eastern sites.
There is scope to work across Hamilton Centre, in addition to opioid pharmacotherapy, addiction medicine CL, clinic-based assessment and managing detoxification in our 20 beds.
Turning Point's Box Hill office provides services to Eastern Health hospitals, Richmond is our central office for our workforce, research and clinical services and includes a statewide outpatient clinic and Ringwood is a new clinical office suite co located with mental health services and the home of the Hamilton Centre Eastern team.
The position will involve rotations that may include clinic-based work, bed-based care and CL, addiction psychiatry assessment and opioid pharmacotherapy. We aim where possible to rotate registrars through areas based on their preferences and needs and are happy to work with trainees to ensure their training time is rewarding. We are responsible for providing Statewide weekly training sessions attended by trainees from addiction medicine and addiction psychiatry from across Victoria and nationwide "ADEP", that our trainees are encouraged to attend.
Turning Point is a learning and research organisation that is constantly offering opportunities beyond the standard training experience. Please contact us if you want to know more about the rotation.
