About the role    

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to support the acute occupational therapy service provide best care and expedite access to support for patients experiencing NDIS related barriers to discharge. This role will include providing leadership and clinical support to enable the completion of NDIS related processes within the occupational therapy scope of practice to progress with patient discharge.  

 

About you      

To be successful in this role you should possess:    

  • AHPRA Registration    
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in NDIS processes to support patients experiencing NDIS related barriers to discharge from hospital 
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable development of good rapport with clients and staff  
  • High level of assessment skills to understand patient care needs and recommended supports for the community 
  • Experience writing NDIS reports for access and NDIS plans 
  • Ability to be flexible and change work priorities as required in a dynamic service   
  • Strong commitment to collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork and patient centered practice   

  

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in theAustralian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
