Grade 3 Physiotherapist – Emergency and Acute Complex Medicine

About the role

providing leadership to the emergency and acute complex medicine physiotherapy team. On a daily basis you will live our Eastern Health values as you apply your skilled senior decision making to support and develop a team of Grade 1 & 2 Physiotherapists, AHA’s and under-graduate students as they continuously innovate & deliver care to patients across an acute hospital environment. The role supports passion for provision of clinical supervision and ongoing development of the Grade 2 physiotherapists within your team. This role carries engagement in multidisciplinary initiatives and growth.

 

As an integral part of your role, you will have access to supports and opportunities to continuously improve your clinical and leadership capabilities. This incorporates

  • Regular supervision, support & coaching from our Grade 4 Physiotherapy Clinical Leads (Aged and Complex Care)
  • Regular engagement with Physiotherapy/Allied Health managers
  • Regular access to the broader Aged and Complex Care Physiotherapy Leadership Teams;
  • In-house professional development opportunities
  • Support for post-graduate studies and/or professional development training.

This role also offers comprehensive peer support from other Grade 3 Physiotherapists.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in relevant discipline.
  • Current registration Australian Physiotherapy Board
  • Eligibility for Membership of Professional Association.
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications, or commencement thereof
  • Extensive clinical experience in general medical and/ or emergency medicine physiotherapy
  • Experience in supervision of staff and students.
  • Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision.
  • Experience in clinical education of staff and students.
  • Excellent team integration skills.
  • Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks.

 

Desirable

  • Membership of Australian Physiotherapy Association(s) and other professional bodies within field of practice.
  • Clinical experience in neurology/ stroke aligned to a small number of neurology patient cohort on medical ward
  • At least 7 years of experience within the Physiotherapy profession.
  • Leadership / participation in significant clinical research & international / national publications and conference presentations.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
