We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Sleep and Respiratory Physician to join our team in providing excellent care across the Eastern Health network

About the role

 

The Sleep service, under the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Eastern Health, plays a critical role in offering outpatient consultation referred from General Practice and Emergency Department as well as from inpatient referrals. There is currently an opportunity to join our team with a permanent position, combined with leave cover, equating to a weekly sleep clinic.  There may also be an opportunity to provide support for covering of unplanned leave.

 

 

The primary responsibility is a weekly outpatient sleep clinic which sees referrals for assessment of sleep disorders. This is supported by an accredited sleep laboratory,  other sleep  specialists, and a sleep registrar.

 

 

About you 

 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

 

Essential

  • Must be a registered medical practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Must have significant clinical experience, with experience and training in Sleep Medicine.
  • Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist.
  • Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related to Sleep Medicine.

 

 

Other

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching of medical students and HMOs.
  • Teaching experience of other clinical staff – nursing and allied health.
  • Exposure to research practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with clinical information systems.
