About the role
An opportunity exists to join our Acute Specialist Clinics nursing team in support of the Urology service. Eastern Health Acute Specialist Clinics are a busy department of the hospital, meeting the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services. Specialist Clinics is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse, who is passionate about the patient journey and their outcome, to join the Specialist Clinics Liaison Nursing team. Acute Specialist Clinics Liaison Nurses provide support, knowledge and advice to patients, carers and other health professionals, and are pivotal to ensuring equitable, safe and timely clinical care is delivered, through prioritising patient triage, balancing acuity and complexity, and managing and coordinating care in the Urology specialty.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Division 1 Nurse / Midwife Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated specialist skills and knowledge within the specific specialty – Urology
- Experience and understanding of Specialist Clinics (desirable)
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability
- Demonstrated involvement in maintenance and improvement of clinical standards
- High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Open, flexible and innovative with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload.
- Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the position and/or leadership and management.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), patient administration system (IPM), and Clinical Patient Folder (CPF)
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
