About the role
An exciting opportunity presents for a Grade 2 Women’s Health Clinician to join our team. This role will involve inpatient work on the maternity wards at Box Hill Hospital with the possibility of maternity ward cover at Angliss Hospital, and provide outpatient services across Eastern Health. The outpatient caseload will primarily involve management of pelvic floor concerns in pregnancy and the early postpartum period but may also include pregnancy related musculoskeletal complaints based on service demands. You may also be required to attend the multi-disciplinary perineal clinic. The Grade 2 may be responsible for supervising and supporting undergraduate students and will in turn be supported by our women’s health senior Physiotherapists. You will become an active member of our Continence, Men’s and Women’s Health Physiotherapy Clinical Leadership Group, which offers excellent peer support and opportunities for professional development within this specialty and is led by our Eastern Health Grade 4 Men's and Women's Health Clinical Lead Physiotherapist. About you
To be successful in this role you should possess:
Essential:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Recognised post graduate qualification in Masters of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health) or similar.
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Eligibility for practising membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload using a client-centred approach
- Clinical experience in Women's Health encompassing diverse patient presentations
- High-level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated capacity to work/show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
Desirable
- Participation in work practice coordination and review
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Clinical experience in use of real time ultrasound (trans- perineal) for biofeedback and appropriate infection control procedures
- Membership of Australian Physiotherapy Association(s) and other professional bodies within field of practice
- Member, Australian Physiotherapy Association with current involvement in relevant special interest groups
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
