Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.

Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.

About the role

The purpose of the eHealth Architect is to provide a responsive, effective and high-quality output in their tasks that promote and sustain the adoption of the EMR best practices by clinical users across Eastern Health. This is a pivotal role, responsible for providing in-depth technical advice on the implementation, use and maintenance of key clinical solutions and applications. The creation and refinement of technically detailed and timely documentation in the form of strategy, position and options papers are key to the success of this role. The ability to manage technical projects independently is also required.

In addition to routine duties, the analyst will play a pivotal role in project initiatives, particularly in rolling out EMR to paper-based areas, ensuring smooth integration and effective adoption by transitioning departments.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an EMR Integration Architect, or similar senior EMR design role.
  • Experience working in a complex project environment, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a Health discipline, Information Technology or Information Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in providing specialist technical and application support for the Eastern Health EMR [Cerner Millennium Solutions: PowerChart, FirstNet, SurgiNet, SurgiNet Anaesthesia, Device Integration, Powerorders, Powerchart Oncology and Medications Management] or another comparable Electronic Medical Record application.
  • Experience in technical design, configuration and troubleshooting EMR applications.
  • Experience delivering large technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience creating technical and design options papers.
  • Proven experience in informing the scope of test plans.
  • Experience engaging with solution vendors to align to industry / organisational roadmaps, and ability to proactively advise management on future eHealth strategies.
  • Experience and a record of success in liaising and communicating with key project stakeholders at all levels, with effective stated outcomes.
  • High-level of computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project to produce professional documentation and presentations.
  • Proven ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise and logical and effective manner.
  • Commitment to Eastern Health values.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
