About the role
We have an exciting part-time opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our Care@Home Community Health program, based at Maroondah and Healesville. As part of the dynamic Child & Family Team you will play a key role in delivering family-centred care to children and their families.
You will work with children presenting to Eastern Health Community Health who are aged 0-school commencement and may be seeking Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Counselling(Social Work) or Dietetic supports.
You will work directly with children and their families as delegated by the Allied Health Professional to deliver safe, evidence based therapeutic interventions/education including assisting with discharge planning and resource development. You’ll also have regular engagement with the Child & Family Allied Health team members to support your ongoing professional development and clinical supervision. You will work directly with the team to complete the Department of Health’s four core competencies for AHAs of individual therapy, group therapy, communication of patient information and equipment and environment as well as competencies directly related to the paediatric population of clients at community health.
You will demonstrate a commitment to learning and development of skills relevant to the role of the Allied Health Assistant and more specifically the paediatric allied health assistant role at community health.
Grade 3 senior clinicians will provide support and guidance to allow you opportunities to achieve your professional goals, as well as contribute to quality improvement activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with children and their families and to enhance your skills in communication, teamwork and administrative tasks delegated by allied health clinicians, while working within a supportive and highly engaged team.
