About the role
We are looking for experienced Occupational Therapists who are passionate about working with adults in the community. Experienced grade 1 therapists are encouraged to apply.
You will provide clinical occupational therapy services to adults receiving services in Community Health, Eastern Health at Healesville and/or Yarra Junction, utilising both individual and group therapy models, including telehealth. This position is within the Health & Ageing Team and presents opportunities to work within a multidisciplinary team. Community Health services prioritise low income and vulnerable families.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current OT registration with AHPRA
- A strong commitment to high quality care and improvement of a service
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload using a client-centred approach
- Experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy services in the community, in particular assessment and prescription of home modifications and mobility aids
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Demonstrated capacity to work and show leadership within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to introduce innovative practice
- Understanding of key stakeholders in relation to referrals and funding bodies
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
