- Various shifts include: 7:15am to 3.45pm | 8:00am to 4:30pm | 7:30am to 4:00pm | 8:30am to 5:00pm | 9:30am to 6:00pm | The successful applicant must be able to perform these shifts, and some 4-hour shifts dependent on demand and workflows.

About the role
This position is responsible for facilitating the flow of patients through Eastern Health Lilydale via main reception, oncology and theatre. Duties include but are not limited to, responding to telephone and counter enquiries, receiving and administer bookings, record and update records, receive payments, order stock and carry out registration, discharge and admission processes for patients.
The role includes front line reception work, dealing with patients, relatives and clinical staff.
You will be part of a very dedicated team of administration assistants who work collaboratively to support patients, their families and clinical staff.
The position requires excellent teamwork and communication skills, with customer interactions occurring face to face and over the phone.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Timely and effective communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated understanding of customer service with internal and external consumers and a commitment to effectively meeting their needs, in a helpful and professional manner.
- Excellent time management capabilities, problem solving skills and ability to work to a deadline.
- Advanced organisational skills with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise a workload, with the flexibility in moving between tasks at short notice.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including the ability to work autonomously.
- A high level of administrative and keyboard skills, including a knowledge of common office computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement.
- Flexible availability to cover rotating rosters.
- Experience working in Reception/Customer relations.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up-to-date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up-to-date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
