About the role
IPU1 is one of 4 adult acute units within Eastern health. It is located within Maroondah hospital and provides service to people aged 18-64 years of age who live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and are experiencing severe and acute symptoms of mental ill health. IPU1 is a 25 bed unit, with 5 of these beds allocated to Intensive care. IPU1, IPU2, Upton House and 1 East work closely together to provide the most appropriate care and environmnet while also working with other healthcare teams to ensure a seamless transfer through the continuum of care.
A unique and exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated registered psychiatric nurse to provide effective clinical leadership on the mental health inpatient units at Eastern Health in the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM). We are seeking applications from nurses who are passionate and recovery focused. The role will work closely with the nursing leadership within the unit, along with the MDT including lived experience staff.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Registration as a Nurse with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), registration certificate
- Post Graduate qualification in mental health nursing-or working towards.
- Significant mental health clinical experience in acute inpatient units
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
