About the role   

This position is responsible for the day of service activities including arriving and departing patient appointments and managing clinic outcomes, prioritising new and review appointment scheduling, wait list management and rebooking cancellations; managing patient enquiries from a variety of sources such as email, SMS and call centre. 

Clerical staff provide customer service, clerical and reception related duties that strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes, adheres to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, values and goals of Eastern Health.   

Multiple opportunities exist in Specialist Clinics across all campus’ for a passionate and enthusiastic clerical staff member.  

Eastern Health Acute Specialist Clinics are a busy department of the hospital, meeting the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services. Approximately 160 000 occasions of service are provided annually. These include new patients referred from the community, review appointments for ongoing care and post admission follow up from Eastern Health’s network of hospitals.   

Clerical staff are a highly regarded member of the multidisciplinary team that ensure Specialist Clinics functions well. Services offered in Specialist Clinics include, Orthopaedics, Plastics, General Medical, Surgery, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Respiratory, Liver, and Paediatrics.   

 

About you   

To be successful in this role you will possess:   

  • Year 10 level English written and spoken   
  • Knowledge of patient management systems (iPM, CPF, EMR)   
  • Computer competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel    
  • Advanced telephone skills and clerical skills   
  • Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner to support high quality patient centred care   
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills   
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
