About the DAPT role

Turning Point, Victoria’s largest alcohol and other drug treatment, research and workforce development centre is seeking a fractional specialist in addiction psychiatry (0.2 EFT) for the role of DAPT. The successful applicant will have completed the RANZCP Certificate of Addiction Psychiatry and have experience in teaching prevocational psychiatry trainees and an understanding of the addiction psychiatry training sector in Victoria. 

 

The DAPT will provide information to eligible pre trainee HMOs, support registrars in RANZCP traineeships as well as liaise with stakeholder employers. The goal of the position is to assist trainees and those wanting to enter FRANZCP training to complete addiction psychiatry training.

 

About you 
To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Experience in training registrars in addiction psychiatry 
  • Current medical registration with AHPRA 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the addiction psychiatry training sector and the relationship between teaching hospitals, addiction psychiatry trainees and the RANZCP
  • Familiarity with the RANZCP trainee curriculum, with detailed knowledge of the learning requirements for the Faculty of addiction psychiatry
  • Familiarity with administrative, supervisory and clinical aspects of  FRANZCP training
  • A clinical background in addiction psychiatry roles
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work independently towards the goals of the role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Capacity to work out of hours if required to host trainee evenings


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
