The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital has positions available in our administrative team for staff keen utilise their clerical skills to service the community of the Eastern suburbs.

We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs. 

 

About the department

Our Emergency Department at Maroondah is a fast paced department dedicated to providing the community of the Outer East with the highest standard of care.

We have a large dedicated, hard-working multidisciplinary team who take pride their teamwork, with this team comprising of medical, nursing, administrative, allied health and patient services personnel.

The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital cares for approximately 50,000 patients per year, averaging 135 presentations per day. Presentations include the critically unwell patients requiring immediate stabilisation as well as a significant proportion of paediatric presentations. The Departmental resources include 35 treatment spaces, including; 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast track treatment areas, and a 20 bed combined adult and paediatric Short Stay Unit. We are also excited that the Maroondah Hospital Emergency Department has commenced planning for a dedicated paediatric Emergency zone and paediatric Short Stay Unit. 

 

About the role

The Administrative Services team within the Emergency Department provides all administrative support to the Emergency Department, plus as the only 24/7 administrative services support within Maroondah Hospital, also undertakes other services including inpatient ward admissions (direct admissions), transfers and discharges for the whole of Maroondah Hospital after hours.

This role will allow you to utilise your strong administrative skills in very people orientated space, and together with the other disciplines aspire to excellence in patient care.
