About the role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Admissions Clerk to join the busy Day Procedure Area at Maroondah Hospital. The Day Procedure Area supports medical, surgical and endoscopy patients, and serves as the entry point for all direct hospital admissions.

You will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support to patients, nursing and medical staff. Key responsibilities include managing hospital admissions, maintaining patient records, coordinating appointments, supporting waiting list management, responding to telephone enquiries, and ensuring accurate data entry. This role is ideal for an organised professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient service.

What you’ll bring

• Experience using patient management systems and a sound understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proven ability to manage workload effectively, work under pressure and use initiative with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality improvement and continuous service enhancement.
• Flexible, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Willingness to work rostered shifts as required.
• Thorough working knowledge of IPM, CPF and EMR systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and telephone skills.
