About the role

 

 

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) to join the team on 1 East at Maroondah Hospital.

 

 

1 East is a 31-bed acute medicine and stroke ward providing comprehensive care for patients with complex medical conditions, including those requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and person-centred care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

 

As an ANM, you will play a vital leadership role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and the wider team. You will help ensure safe, effective patient flow, promote clinical excellence, and foster a positive workplace culture.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff.
  • Support safe, effective coordination of patient care and ward management.
  • Assist with rostering, allocation of staff, and managing resources effectively.
  • Promote professional development, education, and mentoring within the team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold best practice standards.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Extensive acute medical and/or stroke nursing experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and staff wellbeing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or acting ANM role (desirable).
  • Basic ECG interpretation and Cardiac Monitoring competency (desirable)

 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
