About the role
The Maroondah Community Care Unit (MCCU) commenced operation in 1996. MCCU provides recovery focused services to consumers.
MCCU is in Bona St East Ringwood. This location is conveniently situated near public transport shopping and community facilities.
The accommodation consists of 9 residential units of a 3-, 2- and 1-bedroom configuration. This provides a total of 20 beds. MCCU is actively staffed 24/7.
MMSTS offers community recovery orientated services, consultation, assessment and treatment and support to people with a mental illness, and their carers and families, between the ages of 16 and 64 who live in the Municipalities of Knox, Yarra Ranges, Maroondah and Whitehorse (east of Springvale Road).
MMSTS staff focuses on working collaboratively with consumers and carers to promote self-determination and enable progress towards reaching personal recovery goals through:
- Assertive outreach and intensive support, treatment and recovery focused goal setting a hope to increase consumers level of community access and independent living skills
The MMSTS is located on the Eastern Health Ringwood site on Ringwood Street. Some services and functions are performed collaboratively across the MSTS, PARC, MCCU and CCT, such as administration and community development.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a Masters or Doctoral coursework qualification in Clinical Psychology that has been approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA).
- Registration endorsement or eligibility for endorsement in Approved Area of Practice of Clinical Psychology
- Hold Board approved Supervisor status with AHPRA.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience post-qualification.
- Compliance with the PBA Code of Conduct and legal requirements of the profession.
- A current driver’s license
- A satisfactory police check is required prior to appointment.
Desirable:
- Additional relevant qualifications or progression towards these, (over and above the essential qualifications) with a commitment towards their completion.
- Previous experience in case management role.
- Working with children check (WWC).
- Knowledge of and experience working with the Collaborative Recovery Model.
- Experience in clinical research and/or the incorporation of research and evaluation practices into clinical practice
- Experience in policy and resource development and high-level written language skills
- Previous experience in a similar role or at senior clinical level
- Advanced computer literacy skills – with demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook etc.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
