About the Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (ECASA)
ECASA provides free counselling and advocacy services to adults and young people/children in the Eastern Region who have experienced sexual assault recently and in the past. The model of care provides crisis and short to medium term counselling, group work, professional consultation, and professional and community prevention programs.

About the role
ECASA welcomes applications from an experienced Social Worker or Psychologist to join our leadership team and contribute to the ongoing cultural and strategic direction of the agency with a strong commitment to trauma-informed collaborative practice and leadership. The role is responsible for the clinical supervision and operational leadership of counsellors in the team, to ensure the delivery of evidence-based practice and high-quality care. You will also be required to provide some direct client care and lead ongoing quality improvement activities.
The successful candidate requires a strong values-based approach including respect, compassion, kindness and professional safety to be a leader in the ECASA team. You will need to be innovative, reflective and open to learning in your practice and developing team members. Professional Development opportunities will also be available to support you in the provision of this role.
The role is based at our Ringwood East site but could involve outreach opportunities in the East. There is also a requirement for after-hours on-call duties or back-up duties to support the after-hours team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work and Psychology.
- Comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to sexual assault, and the relevant legislation relating to sexual assault.
- Clinical and therapeutic experience within a sexual assault or family violence setting would be viewed favourably.
- Capacity to contribute to group work design and community engagement to further expand ECASA’s service delivery.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience.
- A strong commitment to high quality care.
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offerred and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offerred and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
