About the role
The Eating Disorders –Early intervention and Integration Lead is one of 10 newly funded positions for public health services across the state.
The Eastern Health EIIL role will have a focus on the 18 to 25 age group and sit within the Infant Child and Youth - Mental Health and Wellbeing Program. The role will include service development in the form of reviewing and improving integrated pathways of care within Eastern Health Services and with associated state-wide services.
The role will also provide consultation (primary and secondary) regarding individual young people receiving medical and mental health care for eating disorders within inpatient settings and outpatient clinics.
The role will be based at the Eastern Health Ringwood Hub, alongside the ICYMHS Enhanced Eating Disorders Team. Travel to other eastern health sites will be required. The EIIL will work closely with a designated ICYMHS consultant psychiatrist for clinical governance. There will also be the opportunity to liaise and collaborate with EIIL positions across the state.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Allied health with minimum of 7 years post graduate experience in mental health. Clinical Psychologist with minimum of 10 years' experience as registered psychologist.
- Current Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology or Nursing registration with AHPRA, or Social work eligibility for membership with AASW
- Significant experience in working with people whose lives are impacted by eating disorders and receiving treatment in public health care systems.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- A desire to engage in reflective practice within a team environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
