About the department
The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital care for approximately 50,000 patients per year. Presentations include critically unwell patients requiring immediate stabilisation plus a significant proportion of paediatric presentations. Department resources included 35 treatment spaces, including 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast track areas, and a combined paediatric/adult Short Stay Unit.
About the role
The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital has an opportunity for Registered Nurses to join our team on a permanent, full time or part time basis.
In joining the Maroondah Hospital Emergency team, you will be working alongside a highly dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team who are committed to Patient's First. Not only do we offer the opportunity for experienced staff to complete post graduate studies, we are also able to offer the opportunity for nurses without previous Emergency Department experience to enter the Emergency Nursing speciality through our Entry to ED program, a highly supportive program which provides support from nurses in our Advanced Preceptorship Program.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A strong commitment to high quality patient care and experience
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- A personal commitment to ongoing education and professional development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 12 months experience in acute nursing
The following will be highly regarded;
- Previous Emergency Nursing experience
- Post Graduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing
- Advanced clinical skills in Adult Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
- Advanced clinical skills in Paediatric Emergency and/or Paediatric Nursing
