Supply and Equipment Technician

About the department 

 

The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital care for approximately 50,000 patients per year. Presentations include critically unwell patients requiring immediate stabilisation plus a significant proportion of paediatric presentations. Department resources included 35 treatment spaces, including; 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast track areas, and a combined paediatric/adult Short Stay Unit.

About the role  

 

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic person with an eye for detail, loves problem solving, and thrives within a large multidisciplinary team? 

 

The Emergency Department at Maroondah Hospital has an opportunity available for a Supply and Equipment Technician. This unique role plays a vital role in the department, being part of a small team committed to maintaining the supplies and equipment that underpin the work of the emergency department. The Supply and Equipment Technician works under the direction of the Equipment Nurse and Nurse Unit Manager. To be successful in this role you will be able to maintain a high level of autonomy, be both a details and big picture person, and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • High attention to detail 

  • Ability to work independently 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills 

  • Current Working with Children Check 

  • Proficient computer literacy 

 

The following will be highly regarded; 

  • Previous experience in asset management 

  • Demonstrated experience in meeting competing deadlines 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
