About the role
The Groups Clinician is a specialist Allied Health, Clinical Psychology or Mental Health Nurse role based at ICYMHS. The successful applicant will support the Group Co-ordinator/Senior Clinician in the development and delivery of an evidence-based group program that meets the diverse needs of the children, young people and their families who are accessing mental health care through ICYMHS. Groups may include, but not be limited to, Tuning into Teens/Kids, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills, functional/life skills, multi family therapy for Anorexia Nervosa and Circle of security. The Groups Clinician will bring their own clinical mental health skills and experience and will also be supported to develop further knowledge through professional development, supervision and joint clinical work. Although the position is based in Ringwood there are opportunities for groups to be run at other ICYMHS sites based on identified needs.
About you
- To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Qualified Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse or Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA registration
- Qualified Social Worker, eligible for membership with AASW
- Experience or training in running groups in the mental health setting
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offerred and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
