About the Role
Maroondah Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Eastern Health is seeking a motivated and reliable ICU Technical Administration Attendant to join our busy Intensive Care Unit at Maroondah Hospital. This role plays an essential part in the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the ICU, providing technical, administrative and support services to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work closely with nursing, medical and allied health staff to support ICU operations. This position is well suited to someone who is organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support within the ICU
- Manage equipment logistics including cleaning, restocking and basic equipment checks
- Assist with patient flow activities such as admissions, transfers and discharges
- Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation
- Coordinate supplies and consumables to ensure unit readiness
- Comply with infection prevention, WHS and Eastern Health policies
- Support the multidisciplinary ICU team as required
About You
- Previous experience in an administrative, ward clerk, orderly or support role (healthcare experience desirable)
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Computer literacy (including Microsoft applications and health information systems)
- A flexible, professional and patient‑focused approach
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offerred and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offerred and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
