About the role

Are you passionate about carers and families having a voice and receiving the best possible supports?
An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Carer Peer Worker to take up a role within Eastern Health’s Mental health and Wellbeing service.
The Carer Peer Worker shall work collaboratively with other staff and management to ensure the best possible support and participation opportunities for carers and families. This role requires independent and autonomous work practices.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Lived experience as a family member, carer or supporter of someone who has experienced mental health challenges and has used public mental health services
- An in-depth understanding of the Family-Carer movement and a strong drive to improve family and carer experiences with mental health services
- Demonstrated ability work systemically, drawing on your lived experience expertise to inform organisational policies that will benefit carers and families
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
