Mental Health Clinician - Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC)

 

(Opportunity for an Grade 2/3 Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and/or Grade 3/4 Registered Nurse)

 

  • Fixed Term Part-time contract till 29th June 2025 (0.8 EFT)
  • Permanent ongoing will be offered within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

About the role

 

Our Adult Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) service is a short-term, residential treatment service with a recovery focus, located in our local community in Ringwood East. 

We provide early intervention for people who are becoming unwell or in the early stages of recovery from an acute psychiatric episode, to strengthen and consolidate gains from the inpatient setting. 

Working in partnership with Wellways Australia, we offer a unique setting for people to start their recovery journey and resume their role in the community by providing coordinated, recovery-oriented treatment and support. 

Maroondah PARC encourages links to people's natural supports and their participation in community life. 

 

The primary role is to provide high quality assessment and treatment, relapse prevention and management; and clinical support to people experiencing a mental illness utilising a recovery-oriented model of care. 

 

Main responsibilities but not limited to: 

 

  • Provide an in reach model working in partnership with consumers, their families and our partners from Wellways. 

  • Contribute to clinical service delivery, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. 

  • Act as a role model and mentor to staff in promoting professional values & ethics in clinical practice. 

 

About you

 

We are seeking a dynamic clinician with mental health experience, who is highly motivated to support our consumers to achieve in their life. 

 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

 

  • A strong commitment to delivering high quality care.

  • Excleent communication and organisational skills. 

  • Experience in supporting adults with the lived experience of mental ill health. 

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and autonomously. 

  • Commitment to supervised practice, ongoing professional development and further developing skills in clinical mental health. 

  • You must hold a valid driver’s license. 

  • You must have current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for the AASW.
