About the role

The Mental Health Clinician position within the Mobile Support team (MST) is a valued position that works in partnership with people with a lived experience of mental illness and their families and carers to provide high quality assessment, intensive case management services and assertive outreach support using the Collaborative Recovery Model aiming to promote and facilitate recovery. 

The role works within the wider Mobile Support Team, working with the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, allied health, nursing, lived experience and psychosocial workers. The position works a rotating roster, including afternoon, weekend and public holiday shifts. 

 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of consumers and their families to provide holistic care, whilst also offering discipline specific assessments and interventions. 

The role offers autonomy for clinicians, whilst also offering strong team support and shared decision making. 

 

About you 

To be successful in this role, MST is seeking:

  • Current registration with AHPRA 
  • Completed or working towards Post Graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing (for nurses).
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively 
  • Knowledge of MHWA 2022
  • Sound skills in Mental State and Risk assessments
  • Willingness to continue engaging in professional development 
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
