About the role
The Mental Health Clinician position within the Mobile Support Team (MST) is a valued role that works in partnership with people with a lived experience of mental illness, their families, and carers to provide high-quality assessment, intensive case management, and assertive outreach support using the Collaborative Recovery Model, aiming to promote and facilitate recovery.
While applications are welcome from all suitably qualified mental health professionals, preference will be given to Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
The role collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary group including medical staff, allied health, nursing, lived experience, and psychosocial workers. The position works on a rotating roster, including afternoon, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of consumers and their families to provide holistic care, while also offering discipline-specific assessments and interventions.
This position offers autonomy and flexibility, while ensuring strong team support and shared decision-making.
About you
To be successful in this role, MST is seeking:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Completed or working towards Post Graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing (for nurses).
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Knowledge of MHWA 2022
- Sound skills in Mental State and Risk assessments
- Willingness to continue engaging in professional development
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
